Wet Chemistry Testing

Various methods are used to determine the concentrations of the wet chemistry tests.  Please contact us if you have questions regarding method or certification requirements for your project.

Each analysis has specific requirements for bottle type, sample volume, preservations and holding times.

For example, here are some notes for your Wet Chemistry samples:

  • Alkalinity should always have its own bottle.
  • Ammonia, Total Phosphorous, Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) and Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen (TKN) are all preserved in the same way and can share a container.
  • Anions only require one container, but the holding times vary.
  • Bromide and Sulfate can be analyzed for up to 28 days from sample collection.
  • Nitrate, Nitrite and ortho-Phosphate analysis must be completed within 48 hours of collection.
