Laboratory Technician, Portsmouth, NH- ARA has a full time, entry level opening in our environmental laboratory for a Laboratory Technician. Responsibilities include receiving and preparing lab samples for analysis, extracting and digesting samples, glassware preparation, wet chemistry analysis, and general laboratory assistance as requested. Will train the right person. Qualities of the ideal candidate include:

Site Superintendent, Rochester, NY- This is a 2 month, temporary position. Please read entire job description, qualified applicants only please.


The Site Superintendent is responsible for on-site supervision of all environmental and construction related activities on a given project, including scheduling, cost control, public relations, safety, and quality control. Setting, maintaining, and meeting all schedule deadlines is a top priority for this position.


Responsibilities Include:
• Always maintain total on-site project supervision, to ensure budgets are met, and projects are completed in accordance with specific design, deadline and contract requirements.  
• Serve as technical advisor on projects.
• Conduct field oversight inspections, maintain inspection forms.
• Maintain a safe working area.
• Maintain communication between customer, subcontractors, project manager and QC Manager to keep project on track, on schedule and within budget.
• Manage subcontractors on site, and swiftly resolve any issues to keep project on schedule.
• Ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to in accordance with contractual requirements.  
• Complete all paperwork, documentation requirements & meet all required deadlines.
• Identify safety and quality related issues, actively participate in corrective actions and follow through.


Minimum Qualifications: Candidate must have supervisory experience and excellent communication skills. This position requires a thorough understanding of construction site activity and related issues, as well as a proficiency in construction scheduling and blue print reading, the ability to organize / manage multiple aspects of a project. Understanding of federal regulations, the FAR and contractual language is required, as well as OSHA 40 Hour, Construction Quality Management for Contractors, and experience with Safety and Health USACE EM 385-1-1.  Candidate must be able to climb ladders, access remote areas, and conduct work with proper safety restraints. Candidate must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and navigate construction job site terrain (crawling, climbing, etc.). Candidate must pass background check for access to Federal Properties. Travel required.


Minimum Education: Associates Degree, or equivalent combo of education / experience.
Minimum Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role. 


Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO)- This is a 2 month, temporary position. Please read entire job description, qualified applicants only please.


ARA is seeking SSHO's to Implement and administer the safety program for various environmental and construction projects.

Responsibilities Include:
•    Attend project meetings.
•    Plan and conduct safety meetings.
•    Conduct daily health and safety inspections.
•    Maintain H&S Log.
•    Conduct mishap investigations, complete required reports.  
•    Maintain OSHA Form 300 and daily safety reports for company and any subcontractors.
•    Maintain safety reference material on job site.
•    Ensure all project safety/health requirements are met.
•    Maintain full authority to manage safety at all times.
•    Develop & Implement Accident Prevention Plan and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHA)
•    Identify safety and quality related issues, prescribe corrective actions, and follow up.
•    Maintain safety bulletin board for tracking resolution of issues and resolutions of health and safety related activities.  
•    Maintain list of hazardous materials on site & MSDS forms.
•    Provide training and oversight for all equipment and PPE.
•    Maintain open communication with the Site Superintendent to assure proper implementation of safety and health program.  
•    Ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to in accordance with contractual requirements.  
•    Complete project related paperwork, documentation requirements & deadlines.


Minimum Qualifications: Candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must have a clear understanding of, and experience with, construction site work.  Must have the ability to travel. Must have a general understanding of federal regulations, the FAR and contractual language.   30 Hour OSHA training required.  Successful completion of Construction Quality Management for Contractors.  Experience with Safety and Health USACE EM 385-1-1 required.  Ability to pass background screening for access to federal sites. Must continue safety and health related coursework with 24 hours of formal training every 4 years.  

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent of education and/or experience.

Minimum Experience: Minimum of 5 years construction industry safety experience, or 3 years plus a CSP or safety and health degree.

Hazardous Waste Technician- Temporary Position


Absolute Resource Associates is seeking a part time Hazardous Waste Technician to help manage a site in Orange County, New York. Job responsibilities include: maintain and operate central 90 day hazardous waste accumulation site, pick up and transport waste and materials from the satellite areas to the central accumulation site, track and transport waste items. Candidate will also perform weekly inspections and keep site in compliance with regulations, maintaining inventory records and all necessary paperwork. 


Minimum Qualifications: Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Computer knowledge: email, database, word processing, and spreadsheet applications. Must successfully maintain the following training: Hazardous Waste General Awareness; Managing Hazardous Waste in NY (Lion Technology P34) or equivalent courses; Storing Hazardous Waste: Large Quantity Generators Online Course; Shipping Hazmat by Ground-Ops (Lion Technology HMT 218); OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER


Preferred Qualifications: Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

Minimum Experience: 1-2 years relevant experience

Education: Minimum High School diploma. Some college in relevant field preferred
